Chris and Misha made, served, and cleaned up lunch at the OUR Center in Longmont.
Misha has volunteered there so many times, I think she could be in charge and be mighty fine at it.
They served with a bunch of other young people from my "old" seminary class along with their seminary teacher.
Colorado is currently in a state of drought. We had very little snow and moisture this past winter and not only does it affect Colorado, but states such as California as well.
I have been praying for rain. God hears our prayers, He just doesn't always answer them how or when we think He should. We got snow! At the end of May!
I covered most of my plants and hoped that they would survive. Our grass is still greening up, but it definitely has something wrong to be brown for so long. Here's hoping it survives too!
Our water district just imposed water restrictions that will go into effect on June 1st to limit our watering.
All three of our girls have gone through break ups over the past month.
While break ups are hard, they are also refining.
And the amazing thing about technology is that we can all Facetime together as a family in our different locations and commiserate AND make each other laugh to get over the hard times.
We received our Princess Medallions for our cruise today.
These quarter-size devices that you can wear on a lanyard and use with the Princess App enable touch-free boarding, locating your family while on board, using room service, keyless entry to your stateroom on the cruise, accessing WiFi onboard (if you pay for it), making dinner reservations, and more.
We were excited to unbox the medallions and Kristen promptly blinged hers out with beads for a bracelet.
Kristen had her end-of-year tennis banquet with awards.
We were happily surprised that she not only earned a varsity letter but also earned the honor of "Academic All State First Team". That means she was also recognized for having super duper grades as well.
Her coach, Mr. Holskin, shared remarks about each of the team members. Of Kristen, he said that she was a hard worker and a go getter and was willing to be aggressive on the court.

She was sad to say goodbye to some of the seniors (it was their last day of school for the year while the rest of the grades have finals through the 26th).
There must be someone in the neighborhood next to us that owns a paraglider. We see them soaring through the sky a couple of times a month, and sometimes, they even have friends that join them in additional paragliders.
Chris' gift to me for Mother's Day was a facial. I checked around with some friends on whom they might recommend. After booking, I enjoyed a relaxing moisturizing facial.
Chris spoke in Lyons on Sunday morning. Since we were half way to Estes Park, we decided to pack a picnic lunch and drive up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park once he was finished.
We picked a good day. There wasn't a lot of wind, the sun was shining, and we found a great place at the sledding hill just off of Trail Ridge Road in the park to stop for lunch.
We walked around a little after lunch and noticed that Spring was probably a month behind with the trees just starting to blossom and some snow still on the ground.
We drove over to Lumpy Ridge on the north side of Estes and RMNP. We promised Kristen a fairly easy hike. While the first part was uphill, most of the trail was fairly flat.
We passed through some of MacGregor Ranch. Their cows paid absolutely no attention to us whatsoever. I even waited for a bit to see if one of them would look up from eating, but nope. They were hungry.
We didn't realize there was supposed to be a lunar eclipse until Misha sent us a picture of the moon and commented on how cool it looked.
I captured a few pics of the moon as the eclipse began and thought how awesome the reflection in the water looked.
I wish that I had stayed up a little later than 10 pm to catch the amazing color of the moon after the eclipse as well. Oh well, next time...
I came home from Costco to the sound of a turkey gobbling close by. Didn't realize just how close it was until I walked in the kitchen and spied him right by the front door.
I tried to stealthily take a picture of him, but once he spied me through the window, he was off and running.
Kristen and Misha surprised me with this "old fashioned" typewriter for Mother's Day.
It is as heavy as can be! I remember learning to type on machines similar to this one.
Around March and April, I am always getting anxious to see more couple and plant flowers. The rule of thumb for Colorado is to wait until Mother's Day weekend.
Misha and I went shopping yesterday and I was happy to add some color around the house.
I still need to find some begonias for the front porch area. Begonias like shade so they are always a good flowering plant for the front steps.
Kristen attended her high school prom with a group of friends. A few of them had dates, but mostly they just attended as one big group.
The girls came to our house at 1 pm to start getting ready and hang out.
They had pictures at Barefoot Lakes (a neighborhood next to us), dinner at one of the girl's homes, the dance up in Windsor, and then an after prom party back at the high school.

Chris is off to Australia on his second international trip through work. Last time he brought home Covid. Let's hope this time he is virus free when he lands!
His flight was delayed due to crazy wind storms but fortunately he gave himself enough time in Los Angeles to transfer to his connecting flight.
It's a pretty quick turn around. He lands Monday morning local, works Monday thru Wednesday and flies back home on Thursday. Jet lag is going to be a bear next weekend.
Chris and I attended the early (5 pm) session for our ward temple night. Turns out 6 or so additional couples had the same idea.
We all went out to dinner at Olive Garden after and had one big table together.
After returning to Utah from Colorado, Amy still didn't feel great. In fact, she threw up Monday night. But I think that was a turning point to where she started feeling better.
She had to miss work on Monday and Tuesday and then worked half a day on Wednesday before feeling up to working full days on Thursday and Friday.
This year, because Amy wasn't feeling great and the weather was threatening rain, Chris hid half the eggs we usually hide.
Let me just say, the girls request this egg hunt now. I like how it has evolved to be fun for them still as they are older.
The rules require that they find plastic eggs numbered #1 to #20 (or just to 10 if it looks like it is going to rain) in order. So they have to find #1 and bring it back to the front porch before they can pick up egg #2. It helps to try to remember where the eggs and what number they are as you race around the yard.
Kristen hasn't had a chance to win yet, so it was her year for a win.
She really raced hard and found all of her eggs in record time. She was pretty winded by the end.
Misha came in second.
And Amy's fill in racer, Tyler, came in last.
Amy came home for the weekend with her friend, Tyler. I picked them both up at the airport on Thursday afternoon.
They borrowed the car Kristen drives and headed out to visit Amy's friends at Lexus.
Chris and Tyler went mountain biking Saturday morning but were back around 10:30 ish. One of Chris' bikes had a flat while they were riding, but I think they were able to finish their ride after fixing the tire.
We had planned to go to Estes Park for the day and maybe into RMNP, but Amy woke up not feeling so great. She rested for most of the day in the basement. Because her symptoms were a lot like Chris' covid symptoms, we had her stay in the basement.
Her Covid test turned out to be negative, so that was a blessing, but she still wasn't feeling great at all. The four of "kids" hung out in Longmont later in the afternoon, had dinner, and then painted ceramics together.
We had planned to celebrate Easter and Mother's Day while the girls were all home, and that only kind of happened.
Amy wasn't up to participating in our annual Easter Egg hunt, so Tyler filled in for her. Kristen started out slow in finding her #1 egg, but from there, raced around the yard until she found all of her eggs #1 through #10 in order. She won!
Amy and Tyler didn't leave for the airport until 8:30 pm on Sunday evening. She wore a mask and hopefully didn't spread her germs on the way home.
