Chris and I had a 10:00 am flight from Denver to San Francisco for the first leg of our flight to Tahiti. Kristen left for school early as she had a busy day with singing Valentine’s. She left around 7:25, and Chris and I were out the door shortly after at 7:45 am.
We did receive a text that our flight was delayed but headed for the airport anyway. Things can change.
Fortunately, our flight was back on schedule within the hour as United changed to a new plane and gate. Good thing we didn’t wait out the delay at home!
We left the Pilot at the airport so that Amy could pick it up Thursday evening when she arrived to spend the weekend with her sisters. She would then leave it at the airport on Monday night (the 20th) for us to drive home on the following Wednesday afternoon.
Chris signed up for remote access, a yearly subscription through Honda, so that when Amy picked up the car, she used an app to open the vehicle and get the keys we had left for her. Slick.
Chris and I both decided to wear masks in the airport just to avoid germs and possible sickness during our travel. Not my favorite way to travel, but it is doable.
Our head flight attendant (purser) arrived with a Valentine’s wreath full of flowers on her head. She wore it the entire flight. Seems as though it would have been itchy after awhile!
We arrived in Tahiti around 8:30 pm (3 hours behind MST).
We were serenaded with ukuleles and singing as we walked through customs and immigration.
After finally retrieving the car and trying to follow Google’s driving instructions (and not wanting to do a U-turn where Google thought we should), we finally arrived at the Hilton Tahiti.
