Day 14 Westen-super-Mare

We checked out of the Airbnb today.

We started by exploring Cirencester, not too far from Fairford, and attending the Farmer’s Market. Kristen was feeling remarkably better and did a little thrift store shopping.

Our plan for the day included driving to Westen-super-Mare, a resort town. Chris had become

rather proficient at driving on the left side of the road along the narrow streets and "main" roads. Proficient, but it still totally stressed him out to drive on roads so narrow with oncoming traffic. He was glad to get back to the freeway for a couple hours drive to Westen.

We walked along the beach and the Grand Pier and stopped at the cutest little cafe, Mr. Fox's

Tearoom.

One of Chris' coworkers had suggested that Chris try clotted cream with jam, so Chris ordered a scone with the cream and Kristen ordered a piece of lemon cake drizzled with lemon frosting. I would say both were pretty dry, but they looked delicious.

In the United States, clotted cream would technically be called... butter.

I took a few pictures of tables after people left their tea time behind.

We rode the ferris wheel before driving back to Bristol for the evening.

Bristol was a little more colorful than many of the towns we had just explored. We booked a night at the Marriott and set out for a little exploring. As it was a university town, there were plenty of students out for dinner and socializing on a Friday night.
