While we had hoped the swallows would find another location to build their nests while we were on vacation, we were not so fortunate to experience a miracle there.
Our neighbor sent us pictures of the nests all over the house.
Since Misha and Amy arrived home on Monday, they spent Tuesday morning with the arduous process of knocking down and power washing down the nests.
That wasn't enough to keep the swallows away for good. You really have to vigilant with them for days and days (and a couple of times a day even) in spraying down their nests.
We had a neighbor kid down the street who came to mow on Wednesday, and he knocked down a few more nests as well.
Amy and Misha were both back at their apartments by that point.
No doubt the birds will be back next year. I hate swallows!
