Chris and I hefted the kayaks from the lake over to the river a couple of weeks ago. It was the end of a long day of working in the yard. When he said, "Let's go kayak, " I didn't realize that he meant on the river and not the lake. We had to climb through brush as tall as Christopher and over a fallen down barbed-wire fence to get to the small "beach" area where we launched.
I am glad he suggested the idea. It was a peaceful, meandering ride down the St. Vrain River. Except for when I sideswiped the left bank. Aghghg, watch out for those branches! Whew. Ok, back to the peaceful paddling. We reached a good place to stop, climbed out of our kayaks, carried them across the road to the lake, and set back in the water again. Kayaks are good.
