Misha and Honor Band

Misha was selected to participate in the North East Colorado Combined League Honor Band a couple of months ago.  She was given music to learn toward a day spent in Greeley with intensive study and training with students from 14 other schools.  She was among ten other percussionists being taught throughout the day under the direction of their guest conductor, Erik Johnson. 

Chris, Kristen, and I drove to Greeley on Monday, January 13th for their concert.  There were two bands performing--Middle School and High School.  I will say that the performance of both these Honor Bands was impressive and worth the trip. 

I love that Misha plays percussion.  It is one section of instruments that I can always identify her specifically.  She played the snare drum and then the timpani for the performance and performed excellently.  So proud of her.

She was exhausted after such an intense day of study and performance and fell asleep on the way home.

She turned her head just as I took the picture, so that's the best I got before the concert started.  She's the tall one standing in the back.
