Chris' parents came to visit. They flew in close to the same time as Chris (he was coming from California), and he was able to pick them up. They didn't get to the house until 10:45 pm on April 2nd. Kristen had tried to stay awake, but wasn't successful. She asked me to make sure that Grandma came up and gave her a hug. Luckily, Kristen woke up for about ten seconds and then was right back to sleep.
The girls still had school on Friday--the last day before Spring Break--so they were up and out of the house before Grandma and Grandpa were out of bed. Chris took his parents to the library with him as he had a meeting there. Grandma was to meet Kristen at the school and help out in her classroom and then have lunch. I started texting Chris to find out Grandma's location when Kristen called me at noon asking where Grandma was, and if Grandma wasn't coming could I come and have lunch with her. I could tell she was pretty disappointed, but Grandma showed up while we were talking and was still able to have lunch with Kristen.
Chris checked Kristen out of school early, and she and Grandma spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the lake and looking for birds. Grandma is a bird watcher in her retirement days. We didn't have any plans for the evening, so I finally decided that we would eat at home and then watch a movie. Chris downloaded the latest Night at the Museum movie from iTunes--the last with Robin Williams--and we had a movie night in.
The rest of Grandma and Grandpa's visit wasn't very exciting. We worked in our yard all day on Saturday while listening to General Conference. Chris and his dad watched the Priesthood session on Saturday evening and then more conference on Sunday. We did have our Easter egg hunt between the sessions but had to hurry at the end since Chris had hid the eggs so well.
Monday, most of the peeps in the house slept in. Spring Break had finally arrived. The girls went with their grandparents to play tennis and then did a little shopping. Amy had to work both Monday and Tuesday evening, so we weren't able to go too far. Misha and Kristen both had friends over or went to a friend's house. We had missionaries over for BBQ on Monday evening along with a new single sister in our ward.
Larry and Linda kindly treated us to dinner at Texas Roadhouse on Tuesday evening, minus Misha who was at a friend's BBQ. After dinner all the girls stopped at Kohls for some shopping. I went in looking for a swim suit for Kristen and came out with $100 in girl clothes!
We were all packing up on Wednesday morning, mixed in with cleaning and laundry and meeting with our landscaper. Larry and Linda were headed home, and we were headed to Burbank, CA later in the evening to spend the rest of our Spring Break week. We had to attach the hitch rack to the Pilot to fit all of the luggage. We said goodbye to grandparents at the curb at the airport around 1 pm and then headed to Stapleton to pass the next couple of hours before our flight at 6 pm.
