For the past couple of years, Santa has made his way through our neighborhood escorted by the local fire department. He walks through all the neighborhoods in town on various nights. The fire engines are lit up like a Christmas tree (such an appropriate comparison) and the sirens are wailing calling out the children in the neighborhood. I happened to remember that tonight was the night for our neighborhood, glanced out the window, and lo and behold, there were the fire engines. My girls were excited to see the fire engine parade, though Kristen stood watching with her hands over her ears. It was a little loud. Fortunately, none of them are afraid of the big red dude and were more than happy to accept a candy cane from him. It's a fun tradition.
