Misha's Wisdom Teeth Fun

On the one hand, Misha got to get out of school two days early for the Thanksgiving break.  On the other hand, she had to have her wisdom teeth pulled.  I had originally scheduled her appointment for the week before Christmas, but Misha had been complaining about her teeth hurting.  After spending so much money on braces, we thought maybe it was a good idea to get them out sooner rather than later.  The first available appointment was on the the Thursday before break.  Perhaps in hindsight, Misha wouldn't be so quick to opt for the days off school in favor of mouth surgery.

I drove her to her appointment on Thursday morning.  She was fasting and hungry, but the staff were quick to get her set up with an IV once we arrived.  I snuck a few pictures of her even though, as she pointed out, pictures were not allowed.

In comparison to Amy's experience, Misha's teeth were a lot easier to remove and caused a lot less swelling, faster healing, and no bruising.  Misha's teeth were working their way to the surface.  Amy's wisdom teeth had been parallel to her jaw.  Regardless, Misha spent a few days in pain, applying ice packs non-stop and keeping ahead of the pain with some good drugs.

And unlike her sister who was rather loopy and weepy with the drugs given during the surgery, Misha was her normal self after waking up--no crazy videos of her.  We took Amy's advice and brought a blanket to the surgery, which she was allowed to keep with her.

Misha's face was its puffiest on Saturday and Sunday, but after that, she quickly regained her health.
