You can buy a pass to ride a lift up the mountain and then you experience body-jarring, life threatening turns and twists all the way down the mountain. It is not for the faint of heart. Doesn't even sound fun to me, but he loves it. This picture isn't even the craziest of it!
Chris was wise enough to rent some body armor before his first run. It came in handy twenty seconds after he thought, "Hey, I haven't crashed yet!"
The lifts were closed down around 4 pm due to rain, thunder, and lightning, and the group begrudgingly had to end their day and come home. They might have wished they had come home sooner as the freeway was slowed to a crawl.
Why you ask? A watermelon truck caught on fire. How does watermelon catch on fire?
Crazy traffic sometimes results in crazy driving as the car in this photo tried to cheat by driving along the shoulder. The semi in front wasn't having any of that and pulled over so the car could go just as slow as the rest of them.
Anyway, the ride home was hours longer than it needed to be and Chris happily sank in to the hot tub to soak the ouch out of his crash earlier in the day.
Lots of good life lessons today.
