We packed up the car, barely fitting everything in, and were on our way. It was nice once we were finally out of the city limits, though the country side wasn't anything extraordinary. We did stop once along the way and finally drove in to Corpus Christie around 4 pm. I would say that the girls were not impressed with their first glance at Corpus Christie. We drove around some, locating our hotel. The city was getting a little better the further we drove.
After checking in and unloading our stuff, Misha opted to stay at the hotel and have some quiet, alone time. Chris drove us to Padre Island and the girls were much happier with the beach. We drove down on to the beach. The sand was amazingly compacted. We could have driven for miles and miles along the beach. Rather, we looked for shells and Amy and Kristen inched further and further in to the Gulf waters. As you can imagine, Kristen got a little more wet than she intended but happily went with it.
The family decided on Five Guys for dinner. I was hoping for something healthier and so decided not to eat it. I ended up with a power bar later in the evening and was just a tad bit grumpy.
All but Misha donned swim suits and headed down to the pool area. Kristen hopped in and out of the hot tub, while the rest of us enjoyed its relaxing heat. It was a nice send off to sleep.
