They made a big difference. I was still pretty froggy.
We learned on our previous cruise, that walking off the cruise ship with our luggage was the easiest and fastest way to disembark. There was a bit of a line, but it didn’t take us more than 15 minutes once we were in line. And the immigration lady said my favorite greeting, “Welcome home.” Chris and I both thought that Rafer and Maria were already through customs and were surprised to find Maria waving at us from a different line.
We ran in to Grant and Alena Anderson (new friends from the cruise) outside the terminal. They had planned to go to the the Kennedy Space Center for the day. We told them we were headed there as well and would be happy to have them come along. Rafer and Maria were driving with us and then another couple, Tiffani and Dave Judd, were going to join as well.
Chris went ahead of us to Hertz to pick up the rental car, and we arrived a short time later. Rafer and Maria’s room was ready at their hotel, so while they got settled with their luggage, we drove over to our hotel. We were only able to leave our luggage in storage for the day.
Kennedy Space Center was a lot more fun and interesting than we had anticipated. We started on our first tour before lunch time and with the bus tour and buildings to see, we spent the entire day touring the site until closing time at 6 pm.
And we saw alligators.
Chris was the unofficial leader of the group and found a place for the eight of us to go for lunch. When the wait there was too long, we moved further down the street to Jazzy’s where we spent the next couple of hours eating and talking and laughing. Rafer was loving his crab legs.
Tiffani and Dave dropped Maria and Rafer off at their hotel and we simply drove across the street. Alena and Grant headed off to Orlando since they had an early morning flight.
